As well as pursuing his own art practice Angus also works around Australia teaching printmaking and drawing with experience teaching people of all ages and skill levels. Angus works in Sydney, Australia as a lecturer at The National Art School and also teaches printmaking and drawing at The Workshop Art Centre in Willoughby. More recently, Angus has begun running classes in a private studio space - The Old Butcher’s Studio in Brooklyn (NSW).

The Old Butcher’s Studio, Brooklyn

The Old Butcher’s Studio is a working art space shared between myself and local artist and friend Mirra Whale. The studio is located in Brooklyn on the banks of the beautiful Hawkesbury River in the far north of Sydney. The Old Butcher’s Studio is a private workspace as well as a place we have begun teaching various drawing and printmaking classes. Classes are small and limited to six participants. Brooklyn (Hawkesbury River station) is a one hour train trip from central station or one hour drive from the city. The studio is a 2 min walk from Hawkesbury River station.

National Art School - Public Printmaking Classes

Willoughby Art Centre - Copper Plate Etching Term Class

Over 9 weeks, gain an in-depth introduction to copper plate etching. Explore the unique and exciting range of results that are possible through the etching process and produce a series of prints based on your own imagery. Students will learn to create a diverse array of marks using a variety of processes as well as gaining an understanding of aquatints and more complex tonal effects. Students will have the opportunity to work at their own pace, creating then printing a number of works throughout the term. Please note this is a 1/2 day class running both in the morning (9am-12pm) and the afternoon (1pm-4pm). No previous experience required – all skill levels welcome including beginners.
