CLASSES

Angus has experience teaching printmaking and drawing around Australia to people of all ages and skill levels. Angus currently works in Sydney, Australia as a lecturer at The National Art School as well as teaching at The Workshop Art Centre in Willoughby. More recently, Angus has begun running classes at The Old Butcher Studio in Brooklyn (NSW).

Natural History Illustration Classes, Brooklyn NSW

This series of Natural History Illustration classes offers students the opportunity to spend a day emersed in nature while learning the basic principles and techniques of scientific drawing. Classes are small, fun and engaging and suitable for students of all experience levels including beginners. Classes will focus on a variety of different subjects including botany, fish, crustaceans and birds which we will draw from life in the studio. Classes are run from ‘The Old Butcher Studio’ Brooklyn. Brooklyn (Hawkesbury River station) is a one hour train trip or drive from Sydney CBD. The studio is a 2 min walk from Hawkesbury River station.

National Art School - Public Printmaking Classes

Angus runs various printmaking public programs throughout the year at the National Art School. Please check the National Art School website to see any available courses.

Willoughby Art Centre - Copper Plate Etching Term Class

Over 9 weeks, gain an in-depth introduction to copper plate etching. Explore the unique and exciting range of results that are possible through the etching process and produce a series of prints based on your own imagery. Students will learn to create a diverse array of marks using a variety of processes as well as gaining an understanding of aquatints and more complex tonal effects. Students will have the opportunity to work at their own pace, creating then printing a number of works throughout the term. Please note this is a 1/2 day class running both in the morning (9am-12pm) and the afternoon (1pm-4pm). No previous experience required – all skill levels welcome including beginners.
